Just Tango

Dear guests, here I leave a list, and highlighted in yellow, some parts of my own taste, but each visitor must discover the music and rhythm of this vibrant city.

The main tango houses of Buenos Aires offer tourists tango shows with all its glamor. They are places of high level and price accordingly. In many houses it is also possible to dine before the show or enjoy with a drink. The shows are a succession of several artistic performances, including instrumental groups, singers and dancers couples.

: El Viejo Almacen (Av. Independencia and Balcarce, San Telmo) is the most traditional tango venue in Buenos Aires, a redoubt with all the warmth and nostalgia of tango. Every day a dinner at 20h is performed, with Argentinian meats and international cuisine. The show, described as "truly Buenos Aires," begins at 22h and lasted nearly two hours. [$$$]

: Esquina Carlos Gardel (Carlos Gardel 3200, Abasto) is one of the few located in the traditional tango neighborhood where Gardel grew. The show is excellent and lasts 1h20 level altogether. [$$$]

: La Ventana Tango (Balcarce 431, San Telmo) In the heart of San Telmo, this historic restored tenement is a classic of Buenos Aires culture. La Ventana is a journey through the past. The interiors, which preserve the purest of the building, are the ideal environment for a unique proposal: 35 artists in scene, two tango orchestras, a folk ensemble, dancers and singers; a menu with typical and international dishes, and an exquisite Argentine wines. : Piazzolla Tango (Florida 165 - San Martin 170, San Telmo) Buenos Aires is the land where the roots of Tango first and Piazzolla Tango, Cathedral of the Buenos Aires, was born in response to those who pursue the urban musical soul from its beginnings to the renewal saga of Astor Piazzolla. Here the visitor can feel the spirit of the city, with its harmonies that encompasses not only music but also dance, fine arts, tastes, documented testimonies, friendships and good moments. Piazzolla Tango plays with magic and elves of Buenos Aires: you will complete the spell. [$$$]

: Señor Tango (Av. Vieytes 1655, Barracks) Every day there are performances of great category. Dinner starts at 20h and at 22h show. You can choose to attend the show with champagne, dining or VIP room. As the house is busy reservations are necessary (tel: 4303-0231 / 4). [$$$]

: Michelangelo (Balcarce 433, San Telmo) In a beautiful nineteenth century building is perhaps the most senior place in the field. It offers dinner and tango show, with dishes prepared by chef Francis Mallmann. Monday through Thursday, dinner is at 20h30 and the show at 22h. Friday and Saturday dinner at 21h30 and the show starts at 23h30. [$$$]

: Sabor a Tango (J. D. Peron 2535, Centre) A true palace reopened a few years ago and become a new temple of tango in Buenos Aires. The dinner show starts at 20h30 and includes a free tango class. [$$$]

: The Querandí (Peru 302, Congress) Traditional restaurant of the 30s, a historical monument. Excellent food a la carte, which can be accompanied by an amazing tango show. Dinner is served at 20h30 and the show starts at 22h15. [$$$]

The milongas are another class of tanguería, less luxurious and lively dances, typical frequented by the locals. They are safe and quiet places where you can eat something simple and see couples dancing or even take tango lessons.

: Café Tortoni (Av De Mayo 829, Centro.) The Buenos Aires place par excellence. During the first half of the twentieth century was a refuge for all intellectuality and bohemian city. Large national and foreign personalities visited his salon. The Tortoni provides many tango shows and jazz on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 21pm. [$]

Confiteria Ideal (Suipacha 384, Centre) This cafe, created in the early twentieth century, is a classic of the city. The general public is elderly. In her salon dances are held on Wednesdays and Fridays. Milongas and tango lessons are offered almost every day. [$]

: Bar Sur (Estados Unidos 299, San Telmo) A classic of all time in San Telmo. The proposal here is not tango shows "for export", which show a true picture of the Buenos Aires culture. The atmosphere is casual and the public can request songs, dance and sing with the artists. Every day they show nonstop from 20h to 4h. Admission includes free pizza. [$$]

: La Viruta (Armenia 1366, Palermo) is one of the hot spots among young fans of tango. It offers a carte dinner dance day and sometimes show without charge in the ticket price. Dance classes are Wednesday through Sunday night and need not previously recorded. [$]

: Loco Berretín (Gurruchaga 1946, Palermo) A tango themed restaurant and wine offering food services Argentina cuisine along with show and tango classes and wine tastings and courses. [$]

: Complejo Tango (Av. Belgrano 2608, Congress) In this complex dinner shows are performed every day from 20h30 and arriving an hour before you can practice free tango. [$] : Parakultural Salon Canning (Scalabrini Ortiz 1331, Palermo) Usually there are shows, groups, orchestras and dancers. Milongas are on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays at 23 [$]

: Centro Cultural Torquato Tasso (Defensa 1575, San Telmo) is one of the most frequented by young people of about 30 years and also for tourists. There is usually live performances and you can dine or have a drink. There's dancing on Sundays als 22 and tango classes are also offered. Reservations and reports to 4307-6506. [$] : Bella Vista Tango Club (. Av Francia 710, Bella Vista, Province of Buenos Aires) 40 minutes from the capital is the cultural center that offers tango classes and milongas performed on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 22.
