En 1951 abrió sus puertas, en Corrientes 1369, una de las pizzerías emblemáticas de Buenos Aires, Los Inmortales. Los propie- tarios pudieron reunir el sabor de las pizzas que sus madres les preparaban en Italia, su tierra natal, con el espíritu tanguero que se respiraba en la noche porteña. Fue así que se inspiraron en el ambiente que tuvo el legendario café Los Inmortales, que a princi- pios del siglo XX nucleaba a todos los artistas de la Corrientes angosta. La pizzería tomó el nombre del café y se convocaron a todas las figuras del cine y del teatro para que probaran sus exqui- siteces. El éxito fue inmediato. La iconografía que se observa en el local es un ejemplo de la devo- ción gardeliana porteña. Por un lado, "El mudo", rancho en mano, junto a Elías Alippi y César Ratti, por el otro, nuevamente Gardel, acompañado por Agustín Magaldi, Pedro Noda, Chela, Ernesto Famá y Francisco Canaro nos reciben cálidamente. Adentro nos esperan Pichuco, Edmundo Rivero, Julio Sosa, Sandro y Juan D´Arienzo, entre tantos otros.
